In this video we learn how to deploy & host a Vue application on AWS using the Amplify Console. We also see how to do continuous deployment by kicking off new builds when changes are made to the master branch of our repository.

Instructor: [00:01] We'll start by kicking off the new Vue application by running the vue create command. Next, we'll change into the new directory and initialize the Git repository. Now, we'll go to our GitHub account and create a new repository to hold the new application.

[00:42] Once the application has been created, I'll copy the link to the repo to my clipboard. In our Vue project, we'll set the origin using the repo we just created. Next, we'll add all of the files in our project, create a commit message, and push the project to the new GitHub repo.

[01:14] Now, we'll open the AWS console and search for AWS Amplify. In the Amplify console, click the connect app button. Here, we'll choose GitHub as the repository service we'd like to use. Once we've authorized with GitHub, we should now see a list of all the available repositories in our account.

[01:48] Choose the master branch of the new application we just created and click next. Accept all of the default build settings and click next. Now, you can review the details of your application and then click save and deploy.

[02:18] Once the application has been successfully deployed, you should now be able to click the link in the Amplify console to view the application. Next, let's make some changes to our app. I'll open the Vue project in the text editor and update the hello world .vue component.

[02:44] Here I'll change the heading to be "Hello From Amplify." I'll then go back to the terminal and update the Git repository with the new changes. When we push an update to master, we'll automatically kick off a new build in the Amplify console.

[03:15] Once the build has completed successfully, we should now be able to click the link in the console and view the new version of the application.
